Uruguay convinces

A place that combines peace, stability, and quality of life.
Uruguay is stable, safe, and highly livable
Uruguay is relatively unknown in Europe, but in South America it is considered the “Switzerland of South America” and the most European country outside Europe. Uruguay is about half the size of Germany and has roughly the same number of inhabitants as Berlin. The official language is Spanish, but English and, in part, German are also widely understood. It is also worth noting that Uruguay is only four hours behind Germany in terms of time difference. The main sources of income are cattle farming, tourism, and the IT sector. Uruguay has no mineral resources, which in turn makes it less attractive to major world powers. It offers the highest quality of life in South America, is among the safest countries in the region, and is classified as the only “full democracy” in South America. According to the CPI 2024, it ranks 13th worldwide in terms of freedom from corruption. Safe, stable, well maintained, liberal, and economically sound. Here you will find peace, quality of life, prospects, low crime rates, and protection of your property. A country with vision and freedom, without political extremes or social insecurity.
A country with clear rules, where your assets are safe and protected
The Uruguayan legal system largely corresponds to the European system, with respect for contracts and private property. There are no restrictions whatsoever for foreign real estate buyers. The government protects foreign investments through national legislation. Foreigners have the same property rights as Uruguayans and may engage in any economic activity.
Healthcare system at a European level
The country has a broad network of public and private clinics and doctors. Medical care is very good. Insurance is significantly cheaper than in Europe. A private health insurance policy costs approximately USD 300 per month. Admission is generally not a problem, even if you are already over 60 years old. In addition, Uruguay has a very solid pension system.
German-speaking professionals and educational institutions
In Montevideo, Maldonado, and Punta del Este there are German-speaking doctors and schools. The general level of education is high.
Earning opportunities
There is demand for professionals in IT and software development, engineering, healthcare, education and research, trade, logistics, and services within the tourism sector.
Moderate cost of living
On average, the cost of living is about 70% of what is required in Europe to maintain a comparable lifestyle. Everything imaginable is available. There is no need to compromise on food or brands.
Sustainable energy supply and secure infrastructure
100% sustainable energy supply (hydropower and wind energy, biomass, and solar energy). As a result, air quality is very good and water sources are clean.
Geographical location: peace, distance, and excellent accessibility

Uruguay is located on the Atlantic coast between Brazil and Argentina. Its location represents political stability, a balanced climate, and a comfortable distance from global crises. At the same time, good connections and short distances ensure clarity and ease.

Uruguay lies on the same latitude as Cape Town and has a temperate climate. Warm summers and mild winters. Average temperatures in the Punta del Este region range between 8 and 32 °C. Uruguay is among the safest countries in South America in terms of natural disasters.

Above-average leisure opportunities
The region around Punta del Este is one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of South America, shaped by a European lifestyle and known for its luxurious atmosphere as the “Monaco of South America.” The city and its surroundings offer a wide variety of opportunities with numerous amenities, shops, restaurants, and services. Sporting activities are almost unlimited (with the exception of winter sports). There are many golf and tennis courses. Water sports, cycling, and horseback riding are particularly popular. Culturally, the region also has much to offer, with countless galleries and concerts. From a culinary perspective, thanks to world-renowned cattle breeding and high-quality wine production, the region is a highlight. Classic car enthusiasts will also find plenty to enjoy. The surrounding countryside offers peace, openness, and scenic diversity: lagoons, kilometers of sandy beaches, forested rolling hills, vineyards, and the pampas with cattle and horses.
Residence permits and citizenship
Obtaining permanent residence or citizenship is relatively easy and fast compared to other countries.
Our idea: German building culture in a special place

Our idea is to realize German building culture with high quality standards in a country outside Europe — deliberately far from hustle and overcrowding. As a retreat, a secure second home, or a solid investment with prospects (including a yield calculation upon request).

Uruguay offers ideal conditions for this: a country that is not yet overcrowded, with a pleasant climate, political stability, and geographical distance from global tensions. A place where safety, living standards, and openness are a given — and where you feel welcome, not foreign.

UruguayPlus — welcome home.
